Elder's Encouragement

Read - 2Timothy 3:16-17

These are words written to Timothy in probably the final letter by Paul before his execution. Imagine, as Paul waited to die, of all the things he could have told Timothy to reaffirm him in his role as a Pastor, the number one thing was the importance of Scripture. And he didn’t mention it just once. He told him it was through the Gospel that Christ ushered in immortality and light. Also to be strengthened by the words that Paul had preached, and to pass them on to faithful men, who would then teach others. He told him to rightly handle the word and to not be ashamed of it. And he charged Timothy to preach the word, and to be ready to do it whenever the need arose.

We are starting a new year, and once again I encourage you to start a reading plan that will take you through the Bible this year. If you need help finding a plan ask one of the Elders or Pastors and we will help you find the one that is right for you. Then if Amos 8:11 should come again you will be able to agree with the writer of Psalm 119:11.
